Studio Life

For me, the studio is a critical part of the art making and creative process. It becomes a place to create, to attack, to think and to retreat. This blog you are reading is the result of me sitting in the studio, playing with this and trying to get my head around the changes digital media is making in my life, our lives, and the world around us.

I am excited right now because I have just completed a large scale studio cleaning to celebrate my retiring from a 20 year career in educational television. Over the years the studio had accumulated an amazing amount of junk. The was at least partially because it was being used more as a storage area and less for making art. The process of cleaning the studio has also given me a chance to do some head cleaning as well.

It’s way to soon to know where this will end up, but you’re welcome to tag along if you’d like. The photo is of the comfy chair in the studio where I am writing this right now. It is the studio’s epicenter, and is used for everything from tv/video watching to gaming to telephoning. But most important – it’s used for napping.
